Police Arrest Suspect in Galveston Accused of Murder-for-hire Plot

Grand Police Department

On Wednesday, Grand Prairie police with assistance from the United States Marshal’s North Texas Fugitive Unit arrested Robert Gonzalez in Galveston after learning details of a murder-for-hire plot to have a Grand Prairie woman and man killed to collect insurance money.

A south Texas man contacted police on Tuesday saying he was in Grand Prairie, hired to murder the woman and her adult son.

Police met with the man and determined Gonzalez agreed to pay for the murder of the two Grand Prairie residents. Gonzalez also provided the man with detailed plans to carry out the slayings.

Gonzalez is currently being held in the Grand Prairie Jail charged with Criminal Solicitation to Commit Capital Murder. Bond has been set at $1 million.
