CareFlite Opens New EMS Training Center

CareFlite, America’s oldest joint use air medical program officially opened the Mabee EMS Training Center Wednesday at the Grand Prairie Municipal Airport.

The new center use state-of-the-art simulators to provide training and continuing education for CareFlite’s air and ground ambulance crews, as well as first responders who need training.

The new EMS training center features two classrooms with state of the art audio-video equipment, three adult and pediatric patient simulator labs, a hangar for helicopter training, a vehicle bay for ambulance training and an aircraft cockpit training device. These classes and simulators will be used to train emergency and critical care personnel that work on aircraft, ground ambulance or in hospital emergency departments and intensive care units.

“This facility is as state-of-the-art as any other training center in the country,” said James Swartz, President and CEO of CareFlite. “There may be comparable facilities but not around here.”
