A Shashbuckling Night of Music at the Uptown Theater

The Uptown Theater presents an evening of pirate music, swashbuckling fun, and nautical nonsense for the whole family starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28. Tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for children and available at www.uptowntheatergp.com or by calling 972-237-UPTN.

Starring Grand Prairie's own pirate band, the Bilge Pumps, and featuring Houston’s Pride O' Bedlam band and the DFW Celtic music duo Traveller Song, this event will appeal to that inner buccaneer in all of us.

The Bilge Pumps are a pirate music group who specialize in performances that combine nautical songs, sea shanties, and Celtic music with a huge (and we mean huge!) dose of silly comedy. The group performs larger than life in their authentic-feeling pirate-themed costumes and the variety of instruments backing up their bellowing voices. They have been in demand all over the country for their entertainingly goofy stage antics, their well-blended and harmonic voices, and their musical skill as they take everyone’s favorite nautical music and put their own particular spin on it.

The Pride O' Bedlam, who have performed for years at fairs and festivals around the Houston area, take nautical music and give it an overhaul and driving beat that is infectious to all who hear it. Plus, they're singing pirates, how could you not like that?

Traveller Song is a Celtic music duo who have performed at pubs and festivals in Dallas/Ft. Worth area and offer everything from rousing pub songs to quiet music appropriate for an evening in the highlands of Scotland.

So grab your eye patch and get your tickets today at www.uptowntheatergp.com or 972-237-UPTN.
