Local Coast Guard Auxiliary Installs New Officers

Lake Joe Pool Flotilla 5-01 of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary held its annual Change of Watch ceremony December 3 at Spring Creek Barbeque in Grand Prairie.
Flotilla Commander Dave Brown and Vice Flotilla Commander Jon Raden were sworn into their positions by Division 5 Commander Billy Buck and Division 5 Vice Commander Cole Fulks after reciting the Oath of Office.
After outgoing 2011 staff officers were given an engraved plaque for their contributions to the flotilla, the newly appointed staff officers were sworn into office.
Flotilla Staff Officers for 2012 are as follows: Jason Norwood, Materials Staff Officer; Matthew Whisennand, Communication Services Staff Officer; Paul Manigrasso, Finance Staff Officer; Dietrich Whisennand, Member Training and Human Resources Staff Officer; Cynthia Whisennand, Public Education Staff Officer: Pete Beard, Vessel Examination Staff Officer; Leigh Goodwin, Public Affairs Staff Officer; Fred Hoffman, National Safe Boating Week Staff Officer; Larry Benson, Secretary-Recorder Staff Officer; Jason Sharpe, Communications Staff Officer; Mark Pritchard, Operations Staff Officer; Annette Zettersten, Public Visits Staff Officer; Dave Brown, Information Services Staff Officer and Jon Raden, Marine Safety and Publications Staff Officer.
Each year the flotilla helps provide support to triathlon participants at area lakes. Those present being recognized for this work were: Paul Kellner, Fred Hoffman, Jon Raden, Dave Brown, Billy Buck, Robert Morris and Pete Beard.
Receiving notice for their behind the scenes work was Judy Buck and Jamie Hoffman. Each received a Certificate of Appreciation for their years of helping the flotilla preparations for the Fall Festival held at High Pointe Baptist Church in Cedar Hill.
Special guests were Chief Warrant Officer 4 Chuck Reynolds, Coast Guard Liaison Officer and representative of the Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston, and his wife, Wanda. Representing National Staff were Michell Zeig, Division Chief for the Education Department for Publications and Jon Raden, Branch Chief for Human Resources Department for Awards.
