Investigation under way after Arson Attack

Arson investigators with the Grand Prairie Fire Department have identified a possible suspect in the arson attack Wednesday night of a home in the 3300 block of Bryce Canyon.

Lieutenant Randy Willis, Fire Investigator, said at around 10:30 p.m. a Molotov cocktail was thrown through a bedroom window of the house. It started a small fire inside the room.

Everyone inside the house managed to safely escape.

Upon arrival, firefighters quickly extinguished the fire that caused an estimated $3,500 in damages.

Lt. Willis said the window to the bedroom had been damaged earlier Wednesday night by a BB shot.

He said the residents reported the vandalism to police around 6:00 p.m. In the police report, a suspect was identified and a vehicle description was provided.

At the fire scene later Wednesday night, witnesses told fire investigators seeing a car in the area at the time of the fire that matched the vandalism suspect’s vehicle.

No arrest has been made, Lt. Willis said, and the investigation continues.
