Credit Union's Grand Prairie Branch Collects more than Five Thousand Pounds of Food

The North Texas Food Bank has received $28,715 in cash from Texas Trust Credit Union, along with 11,417 pounds of food. Texas Trust donated $25,000 and collected an additional $3,715 from its virtual food drive during its six-week Together We Can Feed More Campaign.

Jim Minge, president of Texas Trust Credit Union, today presented a check to Jan Pruitt, president and CEO of the North Texas Food Bank, along with all of the non-perishable food the credit union collected.

The Together We Can Feed More food drive was an initiative driven by the employees of Texas Trust, a non-profit financial cooperative serving members in Dallas, Tarrant, Ellis, Johnson and Henderson counties. Members, employees, and the community came together to collect food and money to provide 95,279 meals to feed the hungry this Holiday season.

Food was collected at each of Texas Trust's seven local branches. The Grand Prairie branch collected the most, with 5,146 pounds of food, followed by the Mansfield branch, which brought in 3,233 pounds of food.

"Collectively, our donation will make a difference in the lives of thousands of people who are hungry in North Texas," said Jim Minge, president of Texas Trust Credit Union. "I am thankful for everyone who helped make this campaign a success."

"We are grateful to Texas Trust for its donation," said Jan Pruitt, president and CEO of the North Texas Food Bank. "As the need in our community increases and food cost rises, support like this is invaluable in helping us reduce hunger in North Texas."
