Nine-time Grammy Award winner Ray Benson made a rare solo appearance Friday night at the Uptown Theater.
Benson, the front man and founder of Asleep at the Wheel, has overseen the release of more than 25 albums and countless tours in his forty years with the western swing band.

Lifetime Achievement Award from the Americana Music Association

Named an official Texas State Musician in 2004
