Grand Prairie Santa Cop/Santa Spot Program Begins

The Grand Prairie Santa Cop/Santa Spot program will begin collecting unwrapped toys and non-perishable foods for Grand Prairie families in need during the week of Nov. 21. Bring donations to the following locations:
  • Grand Prairie Fire Stations
  • Public Safety Building, 1525 Arkansas Lane
  • City Hall, 317 College St.
  • Main Library, 901 Conover Dr.
  • Warmack Branch Library, 760 Bardin Rd.
  • The Summit, 2975 Esplanade
  • Grand Prairie Credit Union, 209 N. Center St.

Gift needs include hair dryers, curling irons, flat irons, makeup and jewelry for girls ages 12-16. Wallets, hand-held games, Mp3 and CD players and other gifts for boys ages 12-16 are also needed. Please, no clothing donations. To make a cash donation or to volunteer to help pack boxes, contact Grand Prairie Police Officer Mark Calvert at 972-237-8814. Items will be delivered on Thursday, Dec. 15.

Families in need of assistance must be nominated by police, fire, city employees or school district counselors who have knowledge of family needs. If you know of a family that needs Santa Cop’s help, please notify any police officer, firefighter or city of Grand Prairie employee.
