Cold Front to Bring Cooler Temperatures, Chance of Thunderstorms

An upper level disturbance and strong cold front is expected to move through Grand Prairie tonight bringing much cooler temperatures for the rest of the week and a chance of showers and thunderstorms Monday night as the front moves through. A few of these storms may produce strong downburst winds and some hail.

As the front moves through, winds will shift to the Northwest and then North at 15 to 25 miles per hour.

Behind the front, high temperatures will be in the 60s and lower 70s through Thursday and overnight lows Thursday morning will drop into the 30s and lower 40s.

Despite recent rainfall, elevated fire weather conditions are expected Tuesday and Wednesday due to drier air filtering in behind the front, and gusty northwest winds.
