The Grand Prairie Arts Council Wants to Make You a Star

The Grand Prairie Arts Council (GPAC) announced on Thursday that auditions for GobFest Goes West - Gobs of Talent, Variety Show will be held October 12 from 6:00 until 9:00 pm and October 15 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Grand Prairie Arts Council’s Studio at 116 East Main Street, next door to the Uptown.

GobFest 2011 is scheduled for Saturday, November 12.

GPAC wants organizations or clubs to enter its best talent! Singers, Musicians, Dancers, Magic Acts, Juggling, Comedy Acts, Acrobats, anything goes! Solo acts up to groups of 10 in adult and child/youth divisions. Add some flair with a western theme, Hee-Haw! YOU COULD WIN UP TO $300 FOR YOUR ORGANIZATION OR CLUB, $900 in total cash prizes awarded!

Audition Requirements: Attend one audition date, no appointment needed. Piano & CD player will be available, must be at least 5 years old, and come fully prepared, including completed act (5 minute maximum), full costume or dress. All show participants must participate in the audition (cannot change members if selected), if singing to a CD no voices may be heard on the CD, music only. If using a CD for the performance, bring a copy to leave at the audition.
