With more than 1,100 active card-carrying Spirit Debit cardholders, Texas Trust Credit Union anticipates giving away $75,000 this school year to the schools enrolled in the program. Schools will receive a check each month for cardholders' previous months purchases.

Amber Danford, Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations, said Texas Trust Credit Union raised more than $1,700 for Grand Prairie schools.
The money will be used for student activities and the perfect attendance program, Teri Wilson. Director of Community Relations, said.
The Spirit Debit Rewards program is part of Texas Trust’s Spirit in Action education initiative. Members can earn rewards for designated schools when opening a checking account or taking out an auto loan, personal loan, or mortgage. In 2010, Texas Trust donated more than $69,000 to participating schools. Texas Trust also provides trainers for the Texas Education Agency approved financial education curriculum for high school students and conducts numerous financial literacy workshops each year for students, teachers, administrators, and the community.
