Soldier Parents Surprise Daughter at School

Army MSgt. Tom Hawarden and SSgt. Diana Hawarden, parents of nine-year-old Anna Hawarden, paid the Florence Hill Elementary School student a surprise visit in her classroom Wednesday morning.

The Hawardens, who just returned from a year of duty in Iraq, said Anna was the first of their five children to visit.

The couple's other children are in different locations around the state, so instead of trying to get the children together for a trip to Fort Hood for a visit, the Hawardens decided to go to their children.

The couple plan to visit their other children in the next few days.
