Midlothian Man Dies From Injuries in September 6 Crash
A Midlothian man died Friday at Methodist Dallas Medical Center from injuries he suffered in a multi-vehicle crash that occurred on September 6 at the intersection of Lake Ridge Parkway and Travis Drive.
Michael Maruska, 52, was riding a 2010 Honda Gold Wing three-wheel motorcycle northbound on Lake Ridge Parkway at about 4:40 p.m. on September 6 when he collided with a 2002 Honda Odyssey van at the intersection.
The driver of the van, Khoa Nguyen, 20, of Grand Prairie failed to yield to Markusa and pulled out from a stop sign into the path of the motorcycle. The van then collided with a 2011 Chevrolet pick-up that was stopped on the opposite side of the intersection.
Markusa was taken by CareFlite to Methodist Dallas Medical Center. Nguyen was treated for minor injuries and released.
This is the 15th traffic fatality in Grand Prairie this year.
