Grand Prairie Man Dies from Injuries in September 12 Motorcycle Crash

Simeyoung Hayes, 38, of Grand Prairie died early Friday morning from injuries he sustained in a collision that occurred on September 12 near the intersection of Belt Line Road and La Fiesta Dr.

Hayes was riding a 1998 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on Belt Line Road at about 8:15 p.m. Monday when he collided with a 2011 Chevrolet driven by Delores Castillo of Cedar Hill.

Sergeant Eric Hansen, Traffic Division, said Castillo pulled out in front of Hayes when she attempted to turn south onto Belt Line from La Fiesta Drive and told investigators that she didn’t see the motorcycle.

Hayes, who was not wearing a helmet, collided with the car and was thrown from the motorcycle. He was taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center where he died this morning at 12:45 AM.

This is the 16th traffic fatality in Grand Prairie this year and the collision remains under investigation, Sergeant Hansen said.
