Gophers Lose Close Game
The Bishop Lynch defense stopped two Gopher drives in the closing minutes of Friday night’s football game to preserve a 16-13 victory at the Gopher-Warrior Bowl.
Bishop Lynch started the scoring in the first quarter with a 37-yard field goal, but the Gophers came right back, taking the lead on a 70-yard Brandon Fichter touchdown pass to Devante Lacy.
In the third quarter, the Friars took the lead scoring on a 55-yard interception. Devante Lacy put the Gophers back ahead 13-9 when he scored on a 1-yard run.
Bishop Lynch scored on a 38-yrad touchdown pass with less than nine minutes to play to take the lead for good.
The Gophers are 0-2 this season.
The Warriors lost 21-31 to Mesquite to even their record to 1-1.
