The upper high continues with its grip on North Texas. High temperatures will continue to be well over the century mark with records threatened at Dallas-Fort Worth today and Monday.
Record highs for D/FW are 108F today set in 1901 and 105F on Monday set in 1943 and 1951.
A Heat Advisory is in effect through Monday evening for the urban areas of D/FW as overnight lows will remain above 77F.
The National Weather Service in Fort Worth did say there is some hope for cooler temperatures next week.
Most of the computer models are indicating a weakening of the strong upper high with more moisture moving into north Texas and cooler temperatures.
