Rain Possible Thursday Night

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth said today that it sees a slight change in the current weather pattern that could bring some rain into the area and a temporary relief from the record heat as early as Thursday night.

The upper level high that is dominating the North Texas weather is expected to build to the west. When this occurs, the Weather Service said, it steers stronger westerly upper level winds around the high in a clockwise fashion, bringing these stronger winds south towards North Texas. Upper level disturbances that aid in triggering thunderstorms commonly move through these stronger winds aloft and could bring rain to parts of North Texas.
