The National Weather Service in Fort Worth said today it expects the summertime weather pattern to change by late week. The persistent upper level high that has brought the excessive heat shows signs of weakening, bringing a chance of rain to the region along with high temperatures cooling into the 90s this weekend.
Rainfall is not forecast to be widespread, some locations will miss out.
A cold front should move into the region on Sunday bringing cooler temperatures that will continue into next week. Highs will generally be in the low 90s with lows around 70.
