Open Theatre Auditions For The Grand Prairie Arts Council’s production of "Rumors"

Rumors is a classsic Neil Simon comedy, centering around four elegant couples who arrive at the townhouse of a Deputy Mayor and his wife to attend a party celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary. The four couples soon discover that there are no servants, the hostess is missing and the Deputy Mayor looks like he has shot himself in the head. Comic complications arise when, his lawyer, Ken and wife Chris must get "the story" straight before the other guests arrive. As the confusions and mis-communications mount, and given everyone's upper class status, they decide they need to do everything possible to conceal the evening's events from the local police and the media. The evening spins off into classic farcical hilarity.

Casting five men and five women ranging in age from late 20’s to 60’s. Auditions are by appointment on Thursday, August 4: 7pm, 8pm or 9pm or Saturday, August 6: 12pm, 1pm or 2pm; with possible callback times as well. Appointments may be set by calling or emailing GPAC at 972-642-2787 or gpac@artsgp.com with preferred audition date and time.

Auditions will be held at the GPAC Studio - 116A East Main Street, Grand Prairie, 75050 - next door to the Uptown Theater. Rehearsals begin August 9. Performances will be September 22-25 & September 29 - October 2 at the Uptown Theater in Grand Prairie. GPAC is a non-equity Theatre.
