The Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce hosted its 1st Annual Scholars Luncheon, “Christmas in July”, Wednesday, at the Ruthe Jackson Center. The luncheon honored individuals who were identified by the non-profit organizations Christian Women’s Job Corp, Grand Prairie Boys and Girls Club and Lifeline Shelter for Families, Inc. as candidates with high potential for success who need assistance in furthering their education in order to achieve their goals. Each winner received a $650 scholarship.

Keyeynote speaker for this year’s luncheon was Andy White, Assistant to City Manager for Special Projects for the city of Grand Prairie.
