White Bridle - Equine Assisted Therapy for Autism

Most mornings at Mike Lewis Park arena White Bridle brings in miniature horse for recreational therapy session for children with developmental delays and physical disabilities. Most of these children have been diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder.

The one-of-a-kind program aims to improve motor skills, balance, core strength, visual planning skills, attention span, coordination, flexibility, and concentration. Additionally, it uses peer interaction to improve social skills and build self esteem.

Miniature horses have proven themselves to be excellent animals for equine assisted therapies, because the scale of the horses is right to interact with the children.
