Big Crowd Sees Big AirHogs Loss
Unfortunately for the crowd of 4,949 at QuikTrip Night at QuikTrip Park, the Grand Prairie AirHogs were defeated 14-0 by the El Paso Diablos on Saturday night.
El Paso starter Scott Hodsdon (1-2) held the AirHogs (28-13) to just three hits, a walk and two hit batters in seven shutout innings, and Rigoberto Almonte and Scott Vander Weg each threw a scoreless inning to finish off Grand Prairie's worst loss of the year.
After escaping a two-runner jam in the first, Bo Schultz (1-2) gave up a two-run triple to Maikol Gonzalez in the second to give El Paso (11-30) the lead. The Diablos scored two more in the third before breaking the game open with four in the sixth and six in the ninth.
The AirHogs conclude their three-game series with El Paso on Sunday at 6:05 p.m. with Pepsi Family Day, featuring $1 Pepsi products and hot dogs.
