Severe Weather Likely This Afternoon Through This Evening

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth said Grand Prairie could see some severe thunderstorms today and tonight.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop across North Texas through this afternoon. Some of these storms will have the potential to produce large hail and damaging winds as well as heavy rain and cloud to ground lightning. Isolated Tornadoes are also possible.
The weather service also said the Fort Worth NOAA all hazards weather radio station that broadcasts at 162.55 mhz, is currently off the air. Technicians are working to determine the cause of the problem but no estimate of when service would be restored.
Persons should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings.
