AirHogs Give Fans Preview of Season

More than 500 AirHogs fans, dignitaries, and sponsors packed QuikTrip Park Thursday night to get a preview of the Grand Prairie AirHogs 2011 season at the team's inaugural “Party at the Park .”

General Manager Craig Brasfied spoke to the standing-room-only crowd in the left field bar area about the team’s new promotions and the affordable prices set for the season. Field Manager Ricky VanAsselberg gave a run down on the type of baseball fans can expect to see the AirHogs play and his style of managing.

With plenty of food available, everyone got to sample the new food court menu that includes: Mexican food, Italian food, bar-b-que, fish and chips, as well as ballpark staples such as hot dogs and hamburgers.

“We viewed tonight’s event as a very important stepping stone in our overall efforts this season to get this team where we want it to be,” said AirHogs vice president/general manager Craig Brasfield. “I think we hit a homerun tonight. We just want to work off this crowd and win fans back one-at-a-time.”

The AirHogs begin their fourth season at QuikTrip Park on May 12 when Grand Prairie meets the Gary SouthShore RailCats. Individual game tickets are on sale and can be purchased by calling 972-504-9383 or by visiting airhogsbaseball.com.
