Students Host Birthday Bash
Texas Pythian Home is a non-profit facility in Weatherford that houses children whose families are unable to provide ongoing care and basic needs.
The party, held in the school cafeteria Wednesday, was organized by the Student Council under the direction of sponsors Mary Johnson and Eric Jensen. It was complete with gifts, cakes, food, games, and music all provided by students.
Johnson said many of the students who bought gifts and took part in the party do not have a lot themselves. Yet, they gave so much and got so excited about supporting the less fortunate children.
“It makes me feel very fortunate for what I have and it makes me happy to see that even the littlest thing can make them very happy,” said Student Council member Destinee Rangel, a Junior.
Student Council sponsor Eric Jensen said Wednesday’s party was the school’s tenth annual birthday party for the Pythian children.
“This is an event that really brings a sense of community to our school,” Jensen said.
