The National Weather Service in Fort Worth said there is a slight risk of severe storms containing large hail, damaging winds, and the possibility a tornado for Grand Prairie and the North Texas area Saturday evening and night.
A slow-moving, vigorous upper level disturbance will move out of the Rockies and slowly over the Plains Saturday night, pulling a cold front gradually across the Red River Valley late.
The cold front should move through the area around daybreak bringing gusty north winds 15 to 20 mph, cooler weather, and showers and thunderstorms with rainfall amounts in excess of 1" possible.
