Police quickly nab suspect in fast-food robbery

After a lengthy foot chase around Kennedy Middle School, Grand Prairie police Thursday night captured the lone suspect only minutes after he robbed the McDonalds at 102 West Pioneer Parkway.

Police spokesman Detective John Brimmer said Aaron Eugene Green, 20, entered the McDonalds before 10:00 p.m. He displayed a handgun, robbed the restaurant of an undisclosed amount of cash, and fled on foot.

One of the first arriving patrol officers spotted Green, who matched the suspect’s description, in a field near the McDonalds.

Green fled on foot from the officer, dropping a bag, and discarding clothing as he ran. The bag, containing cash and a BB pistol, was later recovered.

Officers apprehended Green in the 100 block of Lakeview.

Shortly after he was booked into jail, Green complained of asthma problems. He was transported to Medical Center of Arlington for treatment and returned to jail.

Green is charged with Aggravated Robbery, Evading Arrest, and Resisting Arrest with no bond set, Detective Brimmer said.
