Updated: 3/5/2011

A two-year old boy is in critical condition in Cooks Children Hospital in Fort Worth after his father pulled the boy from the family swimming pool this morning.

Grand Prairie Police spokesman Detective John Brimmer said police and fire/rescue were called to the 5000 of Oregon Court at 8:21 a.m.

The father told police he was playing with his son inside the house when he had to leave the room for 2-5 minutes. When he returned, he could not find the boy inside the house.

A sliding door was found open and the father located the boy floating in the swimming pool.

Paramedics rushed the boy to Arlington MCA Hospital. He was later transferred to Cooks Children where at last report his condition was critical.

A press release from the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office stated Dylan Davis, 2, died at 8:53 p.m. Friday.
