Texas Trust announces winners of High School Spirit Card Design Contest
Texas Trust Credit Union, 425 W. Jefferson, hosted its Grand Prairie Spirit night Thursday to unveil the winning entries to its GPISD High School Spirit Card Design Contest.
The contest that drew 132 entries allowed students at each of the four high schools to submit their own design which they felt captured the true spirit of their school. The winning entries were selected by a panel of judges consisting of GPISD teachers, Texas Trust Credit Union Marketing staff, community partners, and the general public through a Facebook voting application.
Winning entries will be become the newest addition to the Texas Trust Spirit line of debit cards with the students receiving a $250 cash award and a paid internship with Texas Trust.
“Texas Trust Credit Union’s goal of the contest was to capture the spirit of Grand Prairie, spotlight the talents of our GPISD students, and provide a debit card that our members would be proud to swipe,” Laci Laskoskie, community relations officer for Texas Trust Credit Union, said. “The energy at the unveiling proved we were successful.”

Camella Young – Grand Prairie“I just wanted to portray our school mascot because what better way to represent South than our school mascot,” said Roxana Chavez a Junior at South Grand Prairie High School whose winning entry featured the school’s warrior mascot.

Chavez added she was very excited about the internship opportunity at Texas Trust because she plans to pursue a career in business or finance.
