Police investigate fatal motorcycle accident
Grand Prairie police are searching for a van that left the scene of an accident Friday night that killed a motorcyclist on Interstate 20.
The accident occurred at about 10:45 p.m. on westbound I-20 near Highway 161.
Police said a 2004 Honda motorcycle driven by Daniel Jarrod Kimber, 22, of Arlington was westbound on I-20 at a high speed when he hit the rear of what witnesses described as a maroon Dodge van.
Kimber was thrown from the bike, landed in the inside lane of I-20, and struck by an oncoming car. He died at the scene.
A witness followed the van to the Wendy’s parking lot at I-20 and Great Southwest Parkway. There the occupants got out of the vehicle to survey the damage then left in an unknown direction.
Sergeant Eric Hansen, Traffic Division, said police are asking for the public’s help locating the van involved in the accident.
