Elderly man dies from injuries suffered in Sunday’s fire

An 89-year-old Grand Prairie man died from injuries he suffered in a Sunday morning fire at his house in the 2100 block of Cottonwood.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner said today, Arthur Nolan died Monday at Parkland Hospital from smoke inhalation.

Grand Prairie firefighters pulled Nolan from his smoke filled home after fire broke out around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. Lieutenant Mark Johnson, Fire Investigator, said the cause of the fire is still under investigation. It appears to have started in the kitchen causing extensive damage to the house.
