Rachel’s Challenge – a weeklong GPISD event

“I want to start a chain reaction of kindness that will ripple around the world.” – Rachel Scott

A near capacity crowd filled the Ruthe Jackson Center Wednesday morning to hear Darrel Scott’s message about his 17-year old daughter, Rachel, known for her friendliness and compassionate nature who wanted to change the world through small acts of kindness. Rachel was killed in the Columbine High School shooting in 1999.

Rachel’s Challenge is a mission to inspire, equip, and empower every person to create a permanent positive culture change in their school, business and community by starting a chain reaction of kindness and compassion.

Wednesday’s speech was part of the Grand Prairie ISD’s Rachel’s Challenge weeklong event the district brought to many of its campuses.
