Police probe fatal Mansfield police chase

Grand Prairie police are investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred on February 11th at 5:40 a.m. on Old Fort Worth Road in far south Grand Prairie that killed the passenger in a pickup that was fleeing from Mansfield police.

Mansfield police was pursuing a 2000 GMC pickup driven by Nicholas Dutton, 30, of Mansfield, northbound on Old Fort Worth Road when Dutton lost control of the truck, causing it to leave the roadway and roll several times.

The passenger, Lesley Grayoso, 38, of Fort Worth was critically injured in the crash and taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center where he died on February 21.

Dutton, who was suspected of stealing copper wire, was arrested at the scene by Mansfield police and charged with Felony Evading. He posted a $15,000 bond and was released from the Mansfield Jail on February 12th. Additional charges are pending at this time against Dutton by several law enforcement agencies.

This is the 3rd traffic fatality in Grand Prairie this year.
