Chamber of Commerce welcomes two aviation material firms
The Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce Branding Irons hosted two ribbon cutting ceremonies Wednesday at adjacent buildings. The first was a grand opening of CFM Materials’ new 48,000 square-foot facility. The second celebrated GE Aviation Materials’ one year anniversary at its new facility.
The two facilities employee more than 70 employees and provides parts and components to aviation customers.
“This is a great facility for us – modern and efficient – and it enables us to be very responsive to our customers,” said Bill Correll, CEO of CFM Materials. “We really benefit from the experience our parent companies, Snecma and GE, bring to help provide the right materials solutions for our customers’ requirements, while also providing the high level of support they have come to expect from CFM.”
GE Aviation Material moved from its Dallas location to a 48,000-square foot facility in Grand Prairie adjacent to GE’s On Wing Support facility. The move allowed GE Aviation to co-locate its Dallas-area operations in adjoining facilities.
“Since the move, GE Aviation Materials had a good year, signing several new customers, exceeding its plans and shipping hundreds of thousands of used serviceable aviation spare parts and components for GE engines to its customers,” said Nate Hoening, plant leader for GE Aviation Materials in Grand Prairie.
