2010 Census shows big gain for Grand Prairie

The U.S. Census Bureau on Thursday released its detailed 2010 Census population totals for Texas showing Grand Prairie’s population has grown 37.6 percent since 2000.

The city’s new population was placed at 175,396, an increase of 47,969 in ten years.

Grand Prairie moved from the 17th to the 15th largest city in the state, surpassing Pasadena and Brownsville.
