City wants design ideas from youth

The City of Grand Prairie opened its design contest for the annual city holiday ornament inviting the youth of Grand Prairie to submit designs for this year’s ornament.

Youth 18 years and younger who live in Grand Prairie are eligible to enter. A panel of judges will select the winner.

The winning entry will be featured as the 2011 Holiday Ornament and the winner will receive one complimentary ornament.

The annual holiday ornament is a project that First Lady Janice England began in 2004. Proceeds from sale of the ornament go to the Lone Star Charitable Foundation.
