Blaze damages three condo units

It took firefighters from Grand Prairie and Arlington about two hours Monday morning to control a three alarm fire that heavily damaged three units at the Castillian Condominiums, 600 East Avenue J.

Assistant Fire Chief C. J. Grippin said fire crews were dispatched to the complex at 7:22 a.m. and when firefighters arrived, found a unit engulfed in flames. He added, one resident was transported to the hospital suffering with respiratory problems.

Fire officials did not have a total number of residents displaced by the fire. The Red Cross is assisting the residents locate housing.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
