U.S. Marshals arrests man wanted by police
Police spokesman Detective John Brimmer said Russell was wanted for injury to his eight year-old step-child.
He said on April 23 Child Protective Services contacted police after school officials detected facial bruising on the child. Investigators learned that Russell struck the child when they could not do their homework properly.
Detective Brimmer added that Russell is also under investigation for alleged sexual assault to a child.
On December 2 U. S. Marshals received a tip that Russell was residing in Wilmington, Ohio. Marshals learned that Russell had been living in various homeless shelters to hide his location. A task force of officers located Russell and arrested him without incident. He was booked into the Clinton County Jail, where he will wait to be extradited to Texas.
Deputy U.S. Marshal Donnie W. Ray stated, “Protecting the children of our community is a top priority for the U.S. Marshals. This arrest highlights the difference we can make when local and federal authorities work together on a common goal”.
