Airhogs announce 2011 schedule

The Grand Prairie AirHogs released their 2011 schedule today, which features 50 home games at QuikTrip Park, including games against South Division rivals Fort Worth Cats and El Paso Diablos, 2010 American Association Champion Shreveport-Bossier Captains, and new league franchises in Gary (IN) and Amarillo (TX).

The AirHogs will open their fourth season in the American Association on Thursday, May 12 with a series against the Gary SouthShore Railcats. The opening homestand will include three games against the RailCats and three games against the Lincoln Saltdogs.

Other important dates during the 2011 season include May 27 – 29 when the AirHogs welcome in the defending champion Shreveport-Bossier Captains and June 6 – 8 when the new Amarillo franchise (formerly Pensacola Pelicans) makes their first appearance at QuikTrip Park. The AirHogs will play a split series with the Fort Worth Cats over the Fourth of July weekend, with games at QuikTrip Park on July 1st and 3rd and games at LaGrave Field on July 2nd and 4th. The AirHogs will close out the season at home with a series on August 27 – 29 against the new Amarillo franchise.

Game times for the 2011 season will stay the same as they were in 2010. All Monday – Saturday games will begin at 7:05pm. All Sunday games will begin at 6:05pm. There will be two Education Days (May 17 and 18) that will start at 10:35am and one Summer Camp Day (June 8) that will start at 11:05am. Gates will always open one hour before the scheduled first pitch time.

The stadium is open Monday - Friday from 9am – 5pm. Individual game tickets for Opening Day and all other games will go on sale on date to be determined.
