Grand Prairie police are investigating the robbery of the Chase Bank, 700 East Main, where a lone suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police spokesman Detective John Brimmer said a lone suspect approached a teller at about 9:50 a.m. Wednesday and handed a note demanding money. The teller gave up the money and managed to activate the banks alarm system.
The suspect who fled before police could arrive was last seen on foot fleeing east and then to the north from the bank.
The suspect is described as:
Black male
25-30 years old
5’5”
145 – 150 pounds
Dark blue or black baseball cap
Sunglasses
Blue pullover shirt with a large cross design on the front
Heavy-weight, “a puffy, down filled type” black thigh length coat
Blue jeans
The suspect did not display nor indicate he had a weapon.
Investigators learned from a nearby business that prior to the robbery a white, 2010 Dodge Ram, four-door pickup with its engine running, driven by a black male wearing a blue shirt was seen in its parking. The business did not have a customer matching the driver’s description enter the store.
Anyone with any information on the robbery should contact the Grand Prairie Police at 972-237-8790.
