Powell Elementary makes 2010 TBEC Honor Roll

Colin Powell Elementary School has been named to the 2010 Texas Business & Education Coalition Honor Roll. The TBEC Honor Roll is the most prestigious award for sustained, academic excellence in Texas. It recognizes schools that have demonstrated three years of consistent, high performance in all subjects compared to other schools serving similar student populations. TBEC Honor Roll schools have the highest percentage of students performing at the state’s most rigorous standard – commended – in every subject.

Of the more than 8,000 public schools in Texas, Powell is among the less than 4 percent that made this year’s Honor Roll.

Powell Elementary School will be recognized on Monday, November 15, 2010, at the 11th Annual TBEC Honor Roll School seminar, reception and dinner at the Hilton Austin Hotel in Austin sponsored by HEB Food Store.
