Train kills man crossing tracks
A Grand Prairie man was killed Saturday night by a train while crossing the tracks in the 2300 block of West Jefferson.
Police were called to the scene around 10:00 p.m. by a train crew who saw the victim, Raymundo Luna, 62, laying between the rails of the track with severe lacerations.
Police spokesman Detective John Brimmer said officers located a witness near the scene who said Luna walked onto the tracks and fell under an east bound train. Detective Brimmer added that police believe the train crew was unaware it struck Luna.
Luna was carried to Dallas Methodist Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
