Two alarm blaze damages home

Grand Prairie firefighters with help from the Cedar Hill Fire Department fought a two alarm fire Friday evening that severely damaged a home in the 2900 block of Bandera.

The fire that erupted around 4:30 p.m. began in an upstairs bedroom.

Home owner Will Smith said he was home with his wife, two daughters and a friend when the smoke alarm sounded. He went upstairs to investigate and found a bedroom closet engulfed in flames.

Everyone got out of the home safely with no injujries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Grand Prairie Fire Department.
