New sandwich heats up menu

Assistant Fire Chief C. J. Grippin and a company of Grand Prairie firefighters were at the Chick-fil-A at Towne Crossing Monday morning just to make sure things did not get over heated when owner Robin Harris officially introduced the chain’s new menu item, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich.

With plenty of bottled water available, Chick-fil-A’s cow and AirHogs’ Ace Bacon on hand encouraging everyone to “Eat mor chickin,” Chief Grippin, the firefighters and Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce president Lynn McGinley took the ceremonial first bits.

Harris said the Spicy Chicken Sandwich is Chick-fil-A’s first new sandwich on the menu since the Chargrilled Chicken Sandwich was introduced in 1989.
