Airhogs lick Saltdogs, 11-1
The AirHogs got their revenge Tuesday against the Lincoln Saltdogs with a dominating 11-1 win at QuikTrip Park.
The ‘Hogs blew the game open in the bottom of the fourth, scoring seven runs, only two being earned.
The scoring began off a double to left center by Aaron Garza scoring Juan Camacho. Garza would cross the plate after a throw from centerfield sailed into the Lincoln dugout giving Garza the extra base after the Ben Petralli single.
The big play of the inning was thanks to a Rafael Alvarez error in right field, scoring Robert Perry from the batter’s box. Perry’s rope to right rolled through Alvarez’s legs scoring all three runners on the bases and allowed Perry to score.
A few batters later Juan Camacho doubled to left center scoring Greg Porter from third for the last out of a big fourth for the ‘Hogs.
Grand Prairie scored one run prior off a single from Greg Porter that scored Robert Perry from third.
The Hog’s continued to the onslaught in the bottom of the seventh adding two more off Chad Gabriel and Petralli hits.
Greg Porter added insult to injury in the bottom of the eighth with a two out solo blast that left the ballpark in right field.
The Saltdogs scored their lone run in the top of the seventh off a triple and a base hit to score the run.
‘Hog starter Greg Krause threw a gem in 7 innings, allowing only one run on six hits.
Grand Prairie returns to the field Wednesday for the third game of the only home series against the Saltdogs this season. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
