Jonathan Guzman named city employee of the month
Jonathan Guzman a Utility Crew Leader in the Public Works Department was recognized Tuesday night at the Grand Prairie City Council meeting as the employee of the month for May.
Guzman joined the city in 2008 as a Utility Maintenance worker after many years experience from Puerto Rico, Georgia and California.
“Jonathan has a sense of humor which is good but when he is on the mob it all about business. He’s been employed over a year and has never used sick time, scheduled his vacation well in advance, willing to assist in any capacity in the organization. Everyday, not every other day but every day he goes above and beyond. I can depend on him day or night,” said his supervisor Danny Sugg, Field Operations Supervisor.
During this year he quickly excelled in motivation and productivity, which led to his most recent accomplishment obtaining his C-Water Distribution operator License and the prompt promotion to Utility Crew Leader.
His current position is charged with the responsibility of leading a work crew and direct oversight of maintenance and/or construction of the Utility system. Additionally, he is responsible for the administration of daily work orders and other maintenance related documents.
“His leadership, professional attitude, principles and traits are what we look for in an employee. It notable that Jonathan has influence other with his attributes as we see changes in other in the organization,” said Barry Walsh, Field Operations Supervisor.
The council also recognized ten high school students from the sister city, Gueishan, Taiwan.
