Mayor endorses Bill White for governor
Mayor Charles England today endorsed Bill White as the right governor for Texas' future.
In a prepared statement Mayor England said, "We need Bill White as our next governor because he will run the state with taxpayers and their wallets in mind. He's proved that he knows how to squeeze the value out of a dollar with fiscally disciplined budgets."
"Bill White understands the needs of local communities and the effects of laws and mandates from Austin and Washington," said England, "I know he'll partner with local leaders from all political backgrounds to find solutions for our state's future."
Mayor England appeared with Bill White at a press conference and campaign event held today at the Ruthe Jackson Center and said, “I’ve seen Governor Perry for eight years and I really don’t like what I’ve seen.”
He mentioned that it seems like every bill introduced in the state legislature creates partisanship and divisiveness. Citizens need leadership that can bring both sides together to pass laws that are good for the state which in turn are good for Grand Prairie.
“As a mayor, I’ve got a responsibility to make sure we try to get someone in Austin that’s good not only for the state, but our city,” Mayor England said.
