Arts council kicks-off concert series

Friday night, the Grand Prairie Arts Council’s very popular April Concerts in the Park series began its tenth year of entertaining music fans with free concerts in Turner Park.

With the warm spring weather, concert goers spread their blankets or setup their chairs on the park’s beautiful slopes to listen to Tin Roof Tango play a variety of music in the Gazebo.

The five talented musicians entertained the crowd with more than twenty five acoustic instruments and musical selections from South America, Africa, Australia, Celtic and the Orient. The group added a generous portion of American style music including old time fiddling, Cajun dance tunes, intense bluegrass, and jazz.

April Concerts in the Park continues each Friday night in Turner Park through April 23 with performances by the South Grand Prairie High Jazz Band, The Gimbles and Brave Combo.
