Charles England, Grand Prairie’s Mayor since 1992, announced Thursday night that he would seek his ninth term in the May 8 election.

Speaking at the annual State of the City Address hosted by the Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce, Mayor England said, “For the eighteen years it has been a real honor for me to be the Mayor of Grand Prairie.”

“I love what I’m doing,” he said to the large crowd. “I still feel good and you know with your blessing and with your support, I’m going to run again.”
