Regional Toll Revenue to fund new road projects
Jim Sparks, Director of Transportation, briefed the City Council Tuesday about funding for five road improvement projects through the Council of Government Regional Toll Revenue (RTR) funds.
Sparks said the funding arrangement is a good deal for the city. Rather than looking to the Texas Department of Transportation, the Council of Government gives the city the funds and the city constructs the projects.
The projects include:
- Turn lane improvements on Interstate at FM 1382
- Street construction – Gifford, Bagdad, MacArthur
- Construct frontage road on Interstate 30 between Belt Line and MacArthur
- Construct frontage road on Interstate 20 between FM 1382 and Carrier Parkway
- Extend Wildlife Blvd. from Hardrock to Lower Tarrant
